The sleeping garden

It’s hibernation time for plants: As winter’s chill sweeps through, it’s a good idea to transfer frost-sensitive potted plants indoors. Some will be affected by the cold more than others, so be sure to position these in the warmest indoor areas possible.

For most plants, growth tends to slow over winter so reduce watering and feeding. Removing saucers from outdoor container plants is also recommended to make sure they have sufficient drainage.
